Why organic agriculture?

Sustainability  with all of its four dimensions i.e. economic, environmental, social and cultural, lies in the heart of organic agriculture.

ORGANIC agriculture in pakistan

Pakistan has 12 agro-ecological zones having more than 35 types of crop and livestock where mixed farming systems are practicing. This diversification provides a competitive advantage for the cultivation of valued crops, fruits, and vegetables throughout the year particularly naturally organic across the various regions.

Organic Statistics

The area under organic agriculture in Pakistan is about 1.51 million hectares as compared to inorganic, which is 22.6 million hectares. Therefore, a notable presence of organic agriculture with strong potential for domestic and international market development exists in Pakistan.

The internationally certified organic agriculture land in Pakistan is 64,885 hectare , which still compromised only 0.2 percent of total land with 415 certified producers and 26 processors. The wild collection of organic production is 44,620 hectare which makes total certified area around 109,505 ha in Pakistan.
